“Wedding with eternity”

The passage from life to death, from being in the world to physical disappearance, is precisely described by Tibetan Buddhism: like stages, this time is expressed by the gradual disappearance of the four elements, earth, water, fire and air.

Taking up this sequence, Patricia Bosshard brings together a string quartet, amplifiers, percussion and an orchestra of loudspeakers to construct a sensitive story. In four chapters, she invites us to celebrate breath, interiority and the disappearance of the palpable in favour of what the Sufi poet Djalâl ad-Dîn Rûmi called “wedding with eternity”.
