Dialogue with Pauline
A choral tribute to Pauline Oliveros
Artists’ residency from January 6 to 12, 2020
Concert on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 2pm
This project is part of the exhibition By repetition, you start noticing details in the landscape held until January 19, 2020 at Le Commun in Geneva, curated by Annie Serratì and Wendy Coutau (SoundVision and the MMMMM association). The exhibition presents the Californian counterculture of the 1960s, and in particular the figure of composer Terry Riley.
In this context, Ensemble Vide joins the project with a choral tribute to Pauline Oliveros. This tribute to the US composer Pauline Oliveros, a key figure in the development of minimalist music, takes the form of a residency for 6 guest artists at the Théâtre du Galpon, followed by a concert.
Her spouse, opera and theater composer IONE, will be in Geneva for the occasion. She will be joined by Geneva musician Céline Hänni, Anna-Kaisa Meklin from Basel, Anne Bourne from Canada, Margrit Schenker from Zurich, and Félicia Atkinson from France.
