Here, the worlds of sound installation flirting with contemporary art, written music and improvisation intersect, transforming ARCOOP into a musical laboratory. Mémoire d’espace is an ambitious project involving the Massicot trio, composer Marina Rosenfeld, musicians from Ensemble Contrechamps - co-producer of the project - and non-professional guitarists.

Let’s sum up: fourteen strings, seventeen electric guitars, as many nail polishes and a trio act as a musical laboratory where stylistic cross-fertilization leads to unheard-of encounters. Based on a joint proposal and idea by Ensemble Contrechamps and Ensemble Vide, these entities come together on the same stage. Marina Rosenfeld, a musician from the USA, uses electric guitars to create a compact musical mass in a committed performance. Geneva-based trio Massicot is commissioned to work with a large string ensemble. Simone Aubert, Colline Grosjean and Mara Krastina compose a unique repertoire, the fruit of a collective effort and promising an evening of great intensity.

Memory of a space, auditory and visual sensations, or space of memory, as a possibility for the emergence of memory? Perhaps both.
