Poésies
Twenty musicians get together. On a loading dock. The space here is open: the ARCOOP building in Carouge can be crossed in all directions, and its undulating roof gives a glimpse of the sky. Strings and percussion instruments appear, assemble and disappear. The experience of a trajectory of sound.
Poésies is a concert imagined by Ensemble Vide, in coproduction with Contrechamps and Eklekto. Xenakis’ masterful, rhythmic solo work Psappha [Sappho in ancient Greek] is met by a fourteen-string ensemble. Composer Chiyoko Szlavnics plunges us into a meditative state with a long sound shot. And in his new piece Ça, Denis Schuler explores the evolution of various successions of sonorities, punctual or linear.
