Rivages
This is a story of multiples. A procession that takes on the contours of the Mediterranean, a link and generator of culture. The three entities present for this concert express an intercontinental musical richness and, above all, propose an encounter. Musicians from Middle Eastern pop and traditional cultures work with two ensembles of young musicians brought together by the Haute école de musique de Genève, led by conductor Elena Schwarz.
Lebanese creator, multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer Zeid Hamdan is joined by singer Lana Moussa. With them is the Dīwān ensemble, a group prepared by Francis Biggi and featuring students from all over the world - including four Palestinian musicians invited for this evening - and Ensemble 21, which explores 20th and 21st century creation.
Through the interpretation and recreation of Mediterranean folklore, this super-orchestra reveals the intensity and charm of southern melodies. It also brings together worlds that sometimes seem remote.
