Solids for Voices offers short rhythmic explorations, sonic translations of densely concentrated geometric figures that become trance-like through repetition. The music oscillates between repetition, suspension and sonic continuum, with a taste for simple harmonies as much as for clustered material. The four women are in total sonic symbiosis, in absolute attentiveness to what appears and emerges as a single voice, as singular as it is plural.

Given Valby Vokalgruppe’s interest in geometric forms, Ensemble Vide and Arta Sperto / KorSonoR asked Francis Baudevin to imagine a visual contribution to the concert. He drew on the repertoire of shapes present in his works and references, and proposed a composition based on rounds (notes) placed in squares and circles, and declined in positive and negative. These patterns will be projected into space using gobos.
